Sharon Woods Hussey expresses her love of nature and natural surroundings through her art which includes painting in oils and water color, as well as jewelry design and hand formed ceramics.  Her formal education was in the sciences, yet she has long nurtured a love of the arts. She has studied a variety of disciplines but is largely self -taught. She became a part of the Nantucket art scene in 2005 when she was juried in as a member of the Artist Association of Nantucket.  She is now a year round Nantucket resident and her artistic focus is the unique beauty of Nantucket.  She excels at displaying the natural beauty of Nantucket’s wide variety of locations, seasons, and light-filled atmospheres.
