Since 1983 I have been making lightship baskets

 

By observation, reading, talking to other makers, I began to make my first open basket. I didn’t realize the amount of work and time involved in making these fine baskets.

 

I was introduced to a fine old gentleman by the name of Reggie Reed who inspired me to increase my knowledge in this great art of basketry; I began to make these unique lightship handbags.

 

I am a founding member of the Nantucket lightship Basket Museum.
